The app design process: from idea to developer handoff

Good products are rarely the first idea. A clear process is what turns a rough brief into screens engineers can build with confidence. Here is the process Advorize follows on every project.

1. Discover

Interviews with stakeholders and users, shadowing, analytics and an audit of what exists — including the spreadsheets people keep beside the software.

2. Ideate

Workshops and fast sketching. We generate many ideas on purpose so the best one isn't just the first one.

3. Explore directions

Two or three distinct design directions — layout, density, tone — built far enough to compare with you and real users.

4. Map user flows

Every role, every path, every edge case, before polish. This is where permissions, approvals and error states are decided.

5. Prototype and test

Clickable prototypes tested with real users on real tasks. We fix what confuses people before it costs code.

6. Final design

Our designers produce the full, final version: every screen and state, responsive, accessible and built on a design system.

7. Handoff and QA

Annotated specs, tokens and components — and design QA during the build, because we build it too.

Each of our concept pages shows the outcome of this process, with the user scenario and the design decisions behind every screen.

All designs on these pages are by the Advorize design team. Company names, people and figures shown inside the screens are illustrative.
