Designing fintech apps people trust with their money
People decide whether to trust a money app in the first few seconds. They do not read the security page; they look at whether the balance is clear, whether fees are visible and whether they can stop something going wrong.
Answer the two questions people open the app for
"How much do I have?" and "Where is it going?" belong on the first screen. Our Pocket banking concept puts the balance and this week's spending above everything else.
Put safety within one tap
Freezing a card is a stressful moment. It should be the first card control, not a setting three menus deep.
Make every money movement reversible-feeling
Show the person and the amount, confirm on the button itself, and give a clear receipt. One decision per screen beats long review pages.
Design for local payment habits
- India: UPI-first, OTP sign-in, GST invoices and DPDP-aligned consent.
- USA: cards and wallets, plain-language fees, accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Canada: Interac alongside cards, bilingual EN/FR, PIPEDA-aware privacy screens.
Don't forget the back office
Trust also depends on how fast the finance team resolves issues — which is why our fintech work includes finance dashboards and accounts-payable automation.
